MOSCOW Hydro Flask 32 OZ Wide Mouth UK , Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Russia's ""pole vault queen"" Elena Isinbaeva ignited the Luzhniki stadium as she claimed her third world title on the fourth day of the 2013 World Championship here on Tuesday, which saw host Russia harvested two gold and one silver medals in seven finals.
The 31-year-old Russian leaped past 4.89m in the first attempt and saw off America's Olympic champion Jennifer Suhr and Cuba's world leading vaulter Yarisley Silva to secure the gold.
Isinbaeva, the 2005 and 2007 world titlist, then launched a challenge to her own world record, trying to clear 5.07, but failed in all the three attempts.
Suhr Hydro Flask 40 OZ Wide Mouth UK , who broke Isinbaeva's indoor world record in March, took the silver at 4.82m with a better countback while the bronze went to Silva, silver medalist at London Games.
""I am very happy for Yelena because she managed to please the home crowd. She really raised the standard of this event and I know it will be only her personal decision if she comes back to competing after a break,"" said Suhr.
""It is very hard to jump a World record at this kind of competition: there is too much emotions, adrenaline, tiredness. I am happy with the energy the crowd gave her Hydro Flask 64 OZ Wide Mouth UK , and I wish her the best.""
Isinbaeva ignited the crowds at Luzhniki stadium in the evening session while Russia's London Olympic champion Elena Lashmanova led a one-two finish in women's 20-kilometer walk to jazz up the local spectators in the morning.
The 21-year-old Lashmanova, who set a world record when securing Olympic gold in London last summer, clocked one hour, 27 minutes and eight seconds to claim the title. Lashmanova has been enjoying a splendid 2013, as she clocked a season's best of 1:25: 49 to land the Russian title in Sochi and has secured IAAF Challenge victories in Rio Maior and Sesto San Giovanni.
Her countrywoman Anisya Kirdyapkina, gold medalist at the World University Games in Kazan last month Hydro Flask 18 OZ Standard Mouth UK , finished three seconds in arrears to take the silver.
The hosts could have enjoyed a podium sweep but Vera Sokolova, European Cup runner-up, received the third warning and was disqualified in the final kilometers when she was chasing the leading duo.
""I'm happy to win a gold medal in the capital of my home country. I am even happier that we've made it the Russian 1-2. It' s a pity that Sokolova was disqualified near the stadium in the end of the race. It could have been the three of us on the podium, "" said Lashmanova.
