"We were all confident in each other so no matter what happens out there we all have each others backs." MacLennan and Sendel also teamed up to finish first in the synchro qualification and will go for a medal in the final on Saturday. "I got into a little bit of trouble in the compulsory routine but we came back strong with the optional and it turned out to be one of our best," said Sendel, who stepped up as MacLennans new synchro partner this year after veteran Karen Cockburn took time off to start a family. Its been a winning combination for Sendel and MacLennan, the 2012 Olympic gold medal winner in individual trampoline. The pair won gold at the last two World Cup meets before the world championships. "I really didnt know what to expect so everything else at this point is a bonus," said Giesbrecht, who competes for a medal on Sunday along with veteran teammate Corissa Boychuk of Airdrie, Alta. "Corissa has done a really great job helping three new athletes move up to the senior team and Ive added a lot of difficulty to my routines," Giesbrecht added. In other events, brothers Kyle and Keegan Soehn of Red Deer, Alta., squeaked into the eighth and final spot of the mens synchro final while Vincent Lavoie of Drummondville, Que., and Katelyn Verschoor of Brantford, Ont., advanced to the mens and womens tumbling finals.
