(SportsNetwork.com) - After losing the final two games of a homestand, the Ottawa Senators will try to get back on track when they kick off a three-game tour of Western Canada with tonights clash against the Vancouver Canucks. You can catch all the action on TSN5 at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt and follow along on TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa and TSN Radio 1040 in Vancouver. The Senators began their recent four-game stay at Canadian Tire Centre with wins over Detroit and Minnesota before losing two straight on home ice over the weekend. Ottawa earned a point in Saturdays shootout loss to Winnipeg, but lost a 5-3 regulation decision the following night versus rival Toronto. The Senators held the lead three times in the early going on Sunday, with their last edge coming after Mark Stone made it a 3-2 game early in the second period. Toronto, however, scored three unanswered goals to skate away with the win in a game that was originally scheduled for Oct. 22. The original game date was postponed when Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was tragically shot and killed while standing guard at the National War Memorial on Parliament Hill. The second of Torontos three unanswered tallies came short-handed when Mike Santorelli notched the game-winner at 10:53 of the second period. Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris joined Stone as the goal-scorers for Ottawa, while Robin Lehner was saddled with the loss after saving only 25-of-30 shots. I thought as the game went on, their competition level was raised and ours got lower, Senators coach Paul MacLean said. Ottawa, which will visit Edmonton on Thursday before completing its road trip Saturday in Calgary, is 3-3-0 as the visiting team this season. The Senators are facing the Canucks for the first time since winning last seasons Heritage Classic at BC Place. The outdoor game was actually played under a roof as the retractable dome was closed due to inclement weather in Vancouver. Ottawas 4-2 win at BC Place halted a six-game skid in this series, but Vancouver has won 10 of the past 12 encounters with the Sens. The Canucks recently ended a four-game road trip on a positive note, beating the Anaheim Ducks in a shootout to go 3-1-0 on the swing. It was Vancouvers seventh victory in the last nine games. Vancouver notched a 2-1 decision Sunday in Anaheim with Nick Bonino scoring the lone goal of the shootout to beat his former team. Bonino, who was acquired by the Canucks from the Ducks in the offseason for prized forward Ryan Kesler, moved the puck from his forehand to his backhand before slipping the puck through the pads of Frederik Andersen. Kesler, the third and final shooter for Anaheim, rang a shot off the post to seal the outcome. It doesnt get much better than that, getting the win in a shootout was something, said Bonino. Alexandre Burrows scored a goal in regulation, while Eddie Lack made 28 saves and stopped all three Ducks in the shootout. The Canucks are playing two straight and five of their next six games on home ice, where they are 4-2-0 this season. Forwards Derek Dorsett (undisclosed) and Radim Vrbata (lower body) and defenseman Luca Sbisa (undisclosed) are questionable for tonights game after sitting out Sunday with injuries. Shortly after a pregame ceremony to honour the longtime Yankees closer, Mike Napoli homered in a three-run first inning to help Clay Buchholz coast to a 9-2 victory over New York on Sunday night. Daniel Nava added four hits for Boston, which eliminated the two-time defending East champions from the division race. Buchholz pitched six innings of two-hit ball to complete the three-game sweep and give the Red Sox six wins in seven games against the Yankees in 11 days. Boston has won 10 of its last 12 to expand its lead in the AL East over second-place Tampa Bay to 9 1/2 games. "Its not just one team," said Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who singled and scored a run on a double steal. "Its how we play. We want to win every game. We never settle for what (the lead) is. Its Go for the next one." Boston has a magic number of four to clinch its second division title since 1995. The Yankees trail Boston by 12 1/2 games with 12 games to play and trail the Rays and Texas Rangers by three in the wild-card standings, with Cleveland and Baltimore also ahead of them in the race. The Yankees had won the last two division titles and 13 of the last 17. "I dont stop believing," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "We still have a great opportunity. Sure, we have to win a lot of games, but the opportunitys right in front of us." In his second start since coming off the disabled list, Buchholz (11-0) walked four and struck out three and allowed only one unearned run. "To run back out there two starts in a row, thhats what I want to do.dddddddddddd Thats where I want to be." Since coming off the DL, Buchholz has allowed five hits and zero earned runs in 11 innings to lower his ERA to 1.51. He is the first Red Sox pitcher to win his first 11 decisions since Roger Clemens started 14-0 in 1986. "He started out one of the best pitchers in baseball and unfortunately his season was interrupted with the three months down time," Farrell said. "Our confidence continues to grow. ... This group believes in itself and it continues to show up between the lines." The Red Sox scored another in the fourth on a double steal and chased Nova in the fifth, making it 5-1 when he hit Mike Carp with the bases loaded and nobody out. In all, Nova allowed five runs -- four earned -- on six hits and four walks and a hit batter, striking out two in four-plus innings. Boston added two more in the sixth and two in the seventh.
