(AP) — A person with direct knowledge of the Buffalo Bills‘ plans confirms to The Associated Press that running back Chris Ivory has been informed he will be released by the team.The person spoke on the condition of anonymity Tuesday because the Bills have not announced their plans. ESPN.com first reported the news.Ivory had one year left on his contract and was scheduled to make a base salary of $1.5 million.The 31-year-old Ivory becomes the odd-man out after Buffalo signed veteran running back Frank Gore two weeks ago to work behind starter LeSean McCoy.Ivory had 385 yards rushing and a touchdown and added 205 yards receiving in 13 games during his first season with Buffalo last year.He’s a ninth-year player who has been relegated to mostly a backup role since having a career-high 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns with the New York Jets in 2015. Steve Pearce has joined the Boston Red Sox and doubled in his first at-bat as the cleanup hitter for the team with the best record in the majors.
