Former NHL defenceman Pavel Kubina announced his retirement on Friday through the NHL Players Association. The 13-year veteran won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning and also skated with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Atlanta Thrashers and Philadelphia Flyers.
