Washington will reportedly send a 6th round pick in 2020 to the Denver Broncos for QB Case Keenum and a 2020 7th round pick. Keenum’s contract will get reworked with the Redskins only owing him $3.5 million for this year. The deal itself isn’t terrible https://www.theredskinslockerroom.com/authentic-dwayne-haskins-jersey , and it is pretty damn cheap for a backup/low end starter like Keenum. It’s easy to give this trade a good grade just for the value which the Redskins needed this season while they eat Alex Smith’s cap money. The bigger question is what else, if anything will Washington do at QB this season. The winner of the Case Keenum/Colt McCoy QB battle doesn’t really move the needle, and would take a lot of things to go right to lead the team to the playoffs. They could still try to grab Josh Rosen from the Cardinals if he is available. Or they could still get a QB in this year’s draft to develop as their long-term starter. What grade does the Case Keenum get, and what should the Redskins do at QB this year? He averaged 26.2 yards per reception which was tied for second most in the NFL among players with at least five receptions. All the hard work he had put in during training camp had paid off. After being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018, Sims made the Redskins 53-man opening day roster. His spot on that roster however was very short-lived. On the opening kickoff of the Redskins first regular season game, Sims suffered a high ankle sprain that landed him on Injured Reserve. Despite returning to full health just over a month later, the rookie was not designated to return, and spent the rest of the season watching from the sideline as his position mates struggled through a disappointing season. Despite his potential, all the recent talk after the 2019 draft has been on new-comers Terry McLaurin and Kelvin Harmon. But what about Cam Sims?Sims was a heralded high school recruit out of Louisiana who committed to the rival Crimson Tide. He never really made much of an impact in Tuscaloosa however, catching just 41 career passes for 467 yards and two touchdowns while battling injuries. He was not invited to attend the 2018 NFL Combine, so he had to impress scouts at Alabama’s Pro Day - and impress them he did!In front of Redskins President Bruce Allen, and a contingent of team scouts, Sims measured in at 6’5” and 215 pounds. He then proceeded to run the 40 yard dash as low as 4.52 on some teams watches, while recording a vertical of 34 inches and a broad jump of 10’3”. It was his on-field work Womens Dwayne Haskins Jersey , however, that impressed scouts the most, as the sticky-handed receiver caught everything thrown his way, and looked fluid and under control in his routes.Although his Pro Day was not enough to get him drafted, the Redskins saw enough to sign him as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2018. drawing rave reviews from head coach Jay Gruden and Doug Williams. Sims will be entering 2019 with a new group of receivers he’ll need to distinguish himself from. The team’s top receiver over the last few seasons, Jamison Crowder, left via free agency. The Redskins used a third and sixth round pick in the 2019 NFL draft on Ohio State’s Terry McLaurin and N.C. State’s Kelvin Harmon. The two are expected to compete with incumbents Josh Doctson and Paul Richardson for starting spots. But don’t count out Sims. The second year pro has the measurables, skill and attitude to steal a starting role as the team’s X receiver. If he can develop chemistry with new quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and make plays like this, it will be hard to keep him off the field. Sims is also an excellent blocker and willing special teams players. Josh Doctson does neither, so Sims may have to really distinguish himself in these areas yet again if he hopes to have an impact in 2019.The Redskins are likely to carry six wide receivers on the 2019 roster. Will Sims be one of them?
